The process of designing and developing a “AAA” title, either a Massively Multiplayer Online, a social or a console game is both complex and costly. Luminous today has a smaller team in the US and a very large team in various locations in Latin America. If you look at the Latin American gaming industry and entertainment related creative and engineering firms, you will see a big number of small studios, focused on a few genres and platforms. While this entrepreneurial spirit is fantastic for the region, it has not acquired the maturity to produce talent that is consistent and fully aligned with the industry needs in our target regions (North America and Europe). It is unlikely that a small Latin American studio has today the maturity to produce AAA games due to budget and skills restrictions.
