On November 29th 2007, during the Mercurio Awards Ceremony, Globant was recognized with the "Mercurio Gold Award", after competing with companies like Unilever, YPF, Petrobras, Banco Galicia, Bodegas Norton, SC Johnson and so on.
This award is the maximum recognition from the AAM (Asociacion Argentina de Marketing) and the Argentinean business community, and is given to the best business cases. We were recognized for our growth, commitment with the region, investment in local talent and challenging vision.
We presented a case entitled "Globant, Leading the IT Revolution in Latin America", where we explained the opportunity we foresaw five years ago and all the initiatives that we have implemented since that day.
On January 31st, 2007, Globant was recognized with first place honors in the Top 5 Emerging Global Service Providers, as part of the Global Services 100 ranking. Globant was selected in part for its high quality in services and wide expertise in open-source solutions.
This list –useful for buyers of business and technology services, identifies the leading service providers located on four continents, which are selected after an extensive analysis conducted by Global Services magazine and the consulting firm NeoIT.
Global Services considered that Globant made the most of two advantages that Argentina offers: “It uses its nearshore presence to attract American customers, and its cultural affinity with Europe to gain European clientele”. Globant was also awared with third place in the Top 10 to Watch in South of the Border category.
On December 21st, Globant was recognized by Export.Ar with the 2005 Export.Ar award. With this award, the Export.Ar Foundation wishes to:
- Recognize the efforts and accomplishments of the company in the pursuit of exporting products and services to the Global Market;
- Encourage the growth and diversification of Argentinean products for export, granting their quality and competitiveness;
- Develop a solid exporting culture among the national entrepreneurs that will redound to several benefits, one of which is the creation of new jobs.
Therefore, Globant is proud to say that this prestigious Foundation considered that the company made an important contribution to Argentina through its commitment with export.
On July 2007, Globant was awarded with the "Excellence in Exportation" prize by the prestigious newspaper La Nacion. The company was recognized as giving the most innovative exporting services in Argentina.
The newspaper considered Globant as a global and outsanding provider for multinational IT companies. They highlighted their services porfolio, which includes software development and infrastructure management.
On November 2006, Globant opened new branch offices in Tandil, a city 500 km away from Buenos Aires. This city was chosen due to its high standards in education and the talent of its graduates, and became one more step towards fulfilling Globant´s worldwide expansion plan.
Sun Microsystems also noticed the high standards with which Globant worked, and so chose our company to become the first authorized SUN Education Center in the province of Buenos Aires. There, Globant employees and the senior IT students from Tandil´s University (UNICEN) learn and deepen their Java knowledge.
During 2005, Globant was invited to be a Host Company in the MIT Global Entrepreneurship Laboratory (G-lab), a course that teaches entrepreneurship in developing countries. The university asked the company to offer a lecture to their students. After that, Globant was selected to be a member of their program.
A four-member team visited our offices at Buenos Aires and worked in a consulting project. The results were published in a business case, called “Globant, leading the IT revolution in Latin America”, which is now taught in the MIT course.
In July 2005, Globant was selected by Endeavor. The prestigious Non Profit Organization selects leading emerging markets entrepreneurs with high potential and a solid business plan and who are driven by the necessary passion to excel. Endeavor considers in its selection if the companies have the potential to improve the development and wealth distribution of their home countries.
This means that professors from leading US universities such as Harvard and MIT along with respectable business leaders consider Globant to be an outstanding place, filled with the potential to compete neck to neck with the largest offshore companies in the world.
