Five years of results
Globant started in 2003 when, with three friends, we decided to become entrepreneurs. The four of us (Martín Migoya, Martín Umaran, Guibert Englebienne and I) have different professional backgrounds and points of view, which complement each other most of the times. We worked in projects related to IT in different countries: US, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and, of course, Argentina. Throughout our careers, we understood that talent is really one of the exportations -if not the only one, with more value added. Argentina has the best conditions to take advantage of the international need of talents and the right culture and attitude to work with foreigners and multinational companies.
Since day one, we oriented Globant as an outsourcing service provider, from Latin America to the world, focusing our sales efforts in the US and UK. In order to achieve our goals, we recruited our team in Argentina and Latin America, and we always believed that Globant IS the people. Our challenge as managers is that, at the end of the day, our people want to come back and keep on working willingly. Today, after almost five years, we are 650 Globers and we have an important list of clients. I would like to share with you a short video that shows our values and philosophy:

When I look back, I realize that we´ve developed different actions following the four p´s of Marketing, even some of them without being aware of.
Regarding products and distributions, Globant provides IT services, such as software development, infrastructure management and globalization, for global companies. We follow a nearshore approach: this means that part of our team works from our clients´ offices and the rest from our development centers in Latin America.
Globant follows a smart pricing policy, based on adding value through our work and using open source technologies, which allow us to be more efficient.
Lastly, for promotion, we developed different initiatives to emphasis our brand awareness and recruit new Globers. Our "X" campaign intended to reach new talents by showing different riddles and math problems. Also, our offices are original places where we provide several benefits: ping pong tables, yoga lessons, massages, mini-golf, pool tables, a music room and many more. Our brand spreads through word-of-mouth and viral advertising.
Some of our most important results are:
- Globant is recognized as a global player in the outsourcing industry. In 2005 we were chosen Endeavor Entrepreneurs and we received the ExportAr award as the best IT services exporter in Argentina. The MIT also wrote a business case for the Sloan School of Management entitled "Globant: Leading the IT Revolution in Latin America". In 2007, Globant was recognized as the Best Emerging Global IT Services Provider by Global Services magazine. Lastly, in july 2007 La Nación journal recognized us with the "Excelence in Exportation" award.
- We have opened development centers in Buenos Aires, Tandil, Mexico and La Plata; and we have commercial offices in London, Boston, Silicon Valley and Phoenix. We also intend to keep on expanding throughout Argentina and Latin America.
- In 2007 our revenue reached the USD 22 millions and we formed a team of 650 Globers. This leaves us in a great shape to face next year´s goals: reach revenues of USD 40 millions and build a team of 1000 employees.
