24 Feb 2016
After being featured as a Case Study in 2010, Globant was selected again by the prestigious American studies house, to be the subject of their academic study. This business case analyzes the process by which Globant reached its IPO in 2014
New York, February 15th, 2016 - Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a new-breed technology services provider focused on delivering innovative software, announced that it was chosen for the second time as a case study by Harvard Business School (HBS).
Authors Paul A. Gompers (a professor of Business Administration at HBS) and Natee Amornsiripanitch (an analyst and researcher at HBS) analyzed Globant’s strategy and how the company achieved a successful IPO.
The case details the investments that the company received in its history from Riverwood Capital, among other groups, up to the time of the decision to raise capital in more substantial forms. The paper describes some of the challenges the company and its investors faced on this path of growth and expansion in order to achieve its IPO release in July 2014.
"It's a great honor to have been selected once again to be a case study for Harvard," said Martin Migoya, Globant CEO and cofounder. "Over 12 years ago we set out to create value and build a great company to generate a positive impact on the entire community. Being chosen by this prestigious institution is a recognition that reaffirms the route we decided to take."
Globant's history began in 2003, when four friends got together with the idea of creating an multinational company that could provide innovative IT services to brands across the world, while offering challenging career opportunities for IT professionals and talent. In just 12 years they built a company that today has more than 4,700 professionals working for companies like Google, LinkedIn, JWT, EA and Coca Cola, among others. Globant’s story has also been selected as a case study at MIT and Stanford.
