  • The global winners of the third edition of Women that Build Awards are from Mexico, Ecuador, the UK, Colombia, and the USA, and were chosen from the 44 local winners in 11 countries announced in November 2022
  •   The global judging panel was comprised of leaders such as Jennifer Reynolds, CEO of Women Corporate Directors; Lynn Martin, President of NYSE; and Shari Loessberg, Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management


NEW YORK - March 27, 2023 - Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, today announced the global winners of the third edition of Women that Build Awards, which recognize, support and promote the development and visibility of talented women leaders in the STEAM field. The awards are designed to spur innovation and collaboration in the technology industry while promoting plurality and connecting women from different parts of the world. 


This year’s awards program garnered more than 1,800 nominations, 1,100 candidates, 110,000 votes, and 70 international judges. The global winners for the Women that Build Awards are:

 

  • Alondra Fraustro (Mexico), a winner of the Rising Star Category, is a Bacteriological and Parasitological Chemist from the Biological Sciences College at Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. She was selected by Ciencia Mágica, where she generated content sharing her experience as a scientist, as well as her highs and lows, to show it’s possible for women to achieve their dreams in STEAM. 
  • Janeth Bonilla (Ecuador), also a winner of the Rising Star Category, is a Co-Founder and Vice President of the Kichwa Institute of Science of Technology (KISTH), a network of professionals from different cultures and nationalities in Ecuador who solve problems in rural communities.
  • Ife Durosinmi-Etti (UK), winner of the Tech Entrepreneur Category, is the founder of Herconomy, a community she developed driven by her own experience. Herconomy empowers women through financial services, education, capacity building programs, jobs, and networking. 
  • Norha Villegas (Colombia), a winner of the Digital Leader Category, is the Dean of Engineering and Design at ICESI University. She leads recruitment and develops strategies to empower more girls to study technology professions and ensure they successfully complete their curriculum. These programs include academic mentoring, psychosocial support, and professional counseling. 
  • Ana Gabriela Valdiviezo Black (Ecuador), also  a winner of the Digital Leader Category, has 19 years of experience in creating, planning, and implementing public policies and national plans related to the democratization, inclusion, technological innovation, security, and national & international regulation of the Telecommunications and ICT sectors in Ecuador and Spain.
  • Barbara Kurshan (USA), winner of the Board Executive Category, is President of ECC, where she provides strategic consulting on investments, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She is also part of the corporate board of American Public Education, and is an investor and advisor of several edtech companies.

The global judging panel was comprised of renowned figures such as Anuj Mehrotra, Dean at The George Washington University School of Business; Enrique Dans, Senior Advisor for Innovation and Digital Transformation at IE University; Jennifer Reynolds, CEO of Women Corporate Directors; Jorge Milburn, Director Sales & Ops EMEA at Tesla; Lynn Martin, President of NYSE; Martin Migoya, Co-founder & CEO at Globant; Patricia Pomies, Chief Operating Officer at Globant; Rosario Marin, Owner of Marin & Marin LLC; Sandra Lopez, GMO at Microsoft; and Shari-Loessberg, Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management.


This year's Women that Build Awards attracted a significant number of global partners, including Salesforce, Vital Voices, and Women Economic Forum Argentina, as well as sponsors such as the New York Stock Exchange, CoachHub, and Udemy. In addition, over 35 supporting associations, including eMerge Americas, Endeavor, Laboratoria, and We Invest, among others, lent their valuable support to the program.


The global reward for the winners of the Women that Build Awards is an executive coaching program from Coach Hub, and a Udemy Business license to use according to their language, needs, and career projections.
