Madrid, Spain – June 13, 2023Iberia has joined forces with its technology services partner, Globant, to launch a project that promotes young talent in the digital transformation sector.

Globant, a digital-native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technological solutions, will provide these new professionals with a training period and a career plan in the projects it develops for Iberia.

In this first edition, named "Java Accelerate," several groups of young talent will have the opportunity to access different training programs delivered by Globant experts. Subsequently, they will join Iberia to work on real projects and continue their learning within the airline's systems.

The Java Accelerate edition started at the end of May with around twenty young individuals who are already undergoing intensive training in this technology. This training will be complemented by a professional experience in the Spanish airline industry. Throughout the duration of the three-year program, students will have access to a personalized development plan guided by Java experts, with the aim of boosting their professional careers.

Mercedes MacPherson, Chief People Officer EMEA at Globant, points out, “At Globant, fostering the training of young professionals to help them reach significant positions in the technology sector is in our DNA. For this reason, we are facilitating the search and training of young girls and boys through the Future Talent Program, along with Globant University, for their integration into a top-tier company." She further adds, "We aim to train the developers of the future, making them the protagonists of their own careers, prioritizing autonomy, diversity, and teamwork.”

Gabriel Perdiguero, Director of Customers, Transformation, and IT at Iberia, emphasizes, “As part of our digital transformation and connected operations strategy, we believe that this project with Globant will contribute to fostering young talent and, at the same time, allow us to have the best professionals to make another qualitative leap in our systems. This will result in an improved experience for our customers and employees. For us, Globant is a leading technology partner, and we are confident that this alliance will be a success.”
