Renowned Universities, Institutions and NGOs join Globant In Support of Globant’s Women in Technology Award

The Globant Awards: Women That Build have added thousands of candidate applications and brought together a number of world-class institutions, NGOs and associations including Endeavor, Inter-American Development Bank, IESE, MIT, UN Women, and renowned leaders such as, Shari Loessberg, Linda Rottenberg, and The Edge in recognizing the work of women who lead the IT industry.

San Francisco – November 4, 2020 – Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company that offers innovative technology solutions, announced that the First Edition of the Globant Awards 2020: Women that Build Edition, has brought together more than 70 world-renowned global institutions that converge to honor and enhance the visibility of the work of women who inspire and strengthen the presence of the female gender within the information technology (IT) industry.

World-class universities and recognized academic institutions like IESE, George Washington School of Business, the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), IAE (Argentina), Universidad de la Empresa (Uruguay) and Catholic University of Uruguay have embraced Globant Awards 2020: Women that Build, in addition to other important institutions including, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Endeavor, UN Women, Women Corporate Directors (WCD), MIT and Women Who Code, that seek to promote women's inclusion and empowerment across various sectors.

"The support that each institution has given us is essential to achieve the common goal of enhancing women in technology. Each person and group that has joined has become a partner and ally of something born as a small idea with a great purpose,” said Patricia Pomies, Globant’s Chief Delivery & People Officer. “Thanks to all involved, the award has reached dimensions almost as great as the effect that professionals within the industry are causing."

In tandem with these organizations, renowned leaders like Shari Loessberg of MIT Sloan School of Management, Linda Rottenberg of Endeavor Global, and The Edge, U2 band member and Chairman of Endeavor Ireland, compose a prestigious global judging panel that will highlight the stories of these valuable women from the IT industry in each of the three categories: Technology Executive, Game Changer and Rising Star.

As the number of institutions supporting the award and applications continues to grow, the nomination deadline is extended until November 8, 2020. The national winners will be announced in a virtual event being held on December 3, 2020, and the global winners will be announced on December 10, 2020.
