Globant participates in Series B funding round to accelerate ELSA’s growth, operations in Latin America
SAN FRANCISCO, February 17, 2021 – Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally-native technology services company, today announced it contributed $2.7 million to a Series B $15 million fundraise by ELSA, the world’s leading English speaking and pronunciation app built with Artificial Intelligence. ELSA is investing in this AI-driven project to further contribute to improving humankind with AI.
Globant Ventures, the company’s venture arm, participated in the round alongside lead investors VI (Vietnam Investments) Group and SIG. Other investors included Google’s AI-focused fund Gradient Ventures, SOSV and Monk’s Hill Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst and U2’s The Edge (David Evans).
ELSA helps language learners with an easy way to improve their English speaking abilities by listening to how they pronounce words, sentences or conversations to pinpoint exact errors and provide real-time, accurate suggestions on their pronunciation mistakes. The company will use the capital to expand its operations in Latin America and build a scalable business-to-business platform – allowing companies and educational organizations to offer the app’s coaching services to employees or students.

In two years, both companies will train 10,000 young people from Latin America, awarding more than 2,500 scholarships.
December 4, 2020 - Today, Globant and Mercado Libre have joined forces to announce a technology project with a regional scope alongside Digital House. Certified Tech Developer is a training program designed to achieve the rapid job placement of thousands of young people from Latin America in the technology industry. With the objective of achieving a diverse and inclusive call, 2,500 scholarships will be provided that will cover 95% of the total cost of the program.
In the next two years, both companies seek to train more than 10,000 young people from Latin America. The program will be carried out together with Digital House and is committed to creating a new academic concept based on agile methodologies with a strong practical orientation so students can gain experience. The initiative was created to acknowledge the needs of the market and will be consistently updated as technology evolves.

San Francisco, November 11, 2020 – After the pledge Globant (NYSE: GLOB) made to move to renewable energy in 2020, the company announced today that it will become carbon neutral by the end of 2021. Globant has committed to neutralize its emissions in 2021 by investing in innovative projects and taking its environmental stewardship to the next level.
This new commitment represents Globant’s increased focus on fighting the climate crisis as part of its Be Kind initiative, a sustainability program that aims to transform people’s lives and make the world a better place.
