  • Globant advances in its expansion in Brazil, acquires Iteris, and appoints a new Executive Director

  • 31 Jan 2024

    Press Release

Globant and Iteris

  • The company announces the acquisition of Iteris, a consultancy specialized in Digital Transformation that provides services to clients such as Nubank, Globo, C&A, and Reckitt.
  • Additionally, Carlos Morais has been appointed as the new Executive Director to lead the national operation, considered crucial for Latin America.

January 2024- Globant, a digital-native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technological solutions, confirms its expansion strategy in Brazil at the beginning of the year with the acquisition of Iteris. Iteris is a Brazilian business and technology consultancy specializing in Digital Transformation, boasting 14 years of experience in the local market.

"We are excited to welcome the Iteris team to the Globant family. With this acquisition, we are taking significant steps in Brazil because we believe in the potential of this market. This new phase entails substantial growth for our operations in the country, reaffirming our commitment to the region and its technological landscape. We will continue to offer a portfolio of top-notch services and products, constantly reinventing businesses," affirms Martín Migoya, co-founder and CEO of Globant.

According to Ignacio Iglesias, Chief Business Officer for Latin America at Globant, “Brazil is one of Globant's main investments in Latin America, and the company already has a strong presence in key industries. Now, it will be able to enhance local teams with significant Digital Transformation projects and new teams of specialists.”

Iteris will bring added strength to Globant in sectors considered targets by the company for the development of digital projects in Brazil, such as finance, retail, healthcare, and agribusiness. Founded in 2009 in São Paulo, the Iteris team consists of over 600 professionals who develop comprehensive solutions in various areas, including payments and banking, manufacturing, communications, education, retail, and healthcare, for some of the strongest brands in their respective sectors in Brazil, such as Fiserv, PagBank, Julius Baer, Nubank, Nutrien, Globo, C&A, and Reckitt, among others, forming a portfolio of 70 clients collectively.

Over these 14 years, Iteris has been recognized as a leader for three consecutive years in the Agile Application Projects and Application Quality Assurance quadrants of the Next-Gen ADM Services study provided by ISG Provider Lens™.

"This operation reflects the success of the Iteris team over the past 14 years. From the beginning, we have noticed cultural similarities between the companies, which, along with our track record of delivering high-quality services with Iteris and world-class innovative projects provided by Globant, will allow our clients to benefit greatly. We are happy and proud to take this significant step for our company." Marcelo dos Santos, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Iteris.

Expansion Plan in Brazil

In Brazil, for the past ten years, Globant has been consolidating its presence through acquisitions of organizations to expand its participation in the local market. Its history includes acquisitions of operations such as Avanxo, GA, and Nèscara, as well as Genexus. Despite being based in Uruguay, Genexus has a significant operation and important references in the Brazilian territory.

The strategy with this acquisition is to replicate the global scenario of the company in Brazil, which ranks among the top ten brands known for their digital projects. 'We have globally relevant Digital Transformation cases that can also be applied in Brazil, such as the user experience improvement project on the FIFA+ digital platform, as well as cases with a social focus involving the use of artificial intelligence for detecting childhood depression, which we developed for a major laboratory in the United States” explains Carlos Morais, Executive Director of Globant in Brazil.

These acquisitions focused on offering applications in Brazil, which is now complemented by the goal of expanding digital projects. In other words, the entire structure in Brazil is prepared for revenue growth in Digital Transformation through the Innovation Centers that are being created in the country.

In this regard, Globant, which had over 1,000 collaborators in the country until the end of 2023, reinforced its capacity by practically doubling its operation, surpassing the mark of 1,800 professionals in the country.

Recently, the company inaugurated its new Brazilian headquarters located in the South Zone of São Paulo, where it consolidates its Innovation Center in Emerging Technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to strengthen the development of technologies with the aim of impacting businesses and preparing clients worldwide for the future.

  • From AI to Blockchain to Quantum Computing: Globant Reveals Its 2024 Tech Trends

  • 03 Jan 2024

    Press Release

Globant 2024 Tech Trends

  • The annual report delves into key areas anticipated to undergo significant changes in the foreseeable future.
  • Additionally, it presents fresh insights into consumer expectations regarding the utilization of artificial intelligence: 40% believe that the widespread adoption of AI across industries will lead to significant improvements in customer experience, and 96% think it’s important for businesses to be transparent about how and when they are using AI in their products or services.

NEW YORK — January 3, 2024 Globant’s Digital Studio Network, which harnesses disruptive tech to put clients’ businesses at the forefront of innovation, published its 2024 Tech Trends Report, highlighting top tech predictions for the year ahead.

“Technologies that make it to the forefront in 2024 will be those that can make measurable impacts on the customer experience, the employee experience and/or business advancement,” said Diego Tártara, Chief Technology Officer at Globant. “The human impact has never been more critical, and the technologies that can work alongside humans to improve capabilities and lives will take off.”

The 2024 Tech Trends Report focuses on the following five areas that will usher in the most change over the next 12 months and beyond:

  • Artificial Intelligence: While big businesses focused on using AI for cost optimization and efficiency last year, the opportunity to use AI to skyrocket customer experiences in organizations across the board is largely untapped. With the development of countless accessible AI tools, organizations will adopt AI like never before to improve outcomes and manage resources. Organizations that invested in AI in 2023 will use these tools to largely focus on differentiating their customer experiences in 2024.

  • Quantum Computing: Many organizations will start understanding how quantum computing could impact their business in 2024, but only some will take steps forward. Applications in data and computing-rich fields, such as finance and pharmaceutical research, will likely be the first to take interest and invest.

  • Robotics: The robotics market will reach a pivotal point with versatile robots, thanks to AI developments. In 2024, businesses will start to adopt robots-as-a-service (RaaS), with many not taking a humanoid form but rather focused on an optimized task, like rolling delivery bots. Robotics is also entering the “non-manufacturing” space where it's traditionally been used for automation and efficiencies, and expanding into areas like hospitality and entertainment.

  • Blockchain: Blockchain will remain a critical technology for specific industries. The implications for digital identities and data security will keep the blockchain in the conversation around technology reinvention, but it won’t truly take off until governments and public agencies champion its interoperability.

  • Immersive Experiences: Despite some headlines to the contrary, interest in 3D immersive experiences is still strong. In 2024, we will see a static interest in the metaverse, with peak interest coming with the launch of the Apple Vision Pro in Q1. Key players will continue to invest heavily into making it an everyday interaction for individuals.

  • 28 Nov 2023

    Press Release

Globant acquires GUT

With this acquisition, Globant continues its journey of creating a powerful global creative tech organization ready for growth

After being a client for three years, Globant buys its own advertising agency in a golden and unique move

November 28, 2023 – New York, US.- Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, today announced the acquisition of a majority stake in GUT, an independent creative agency, to strengthen and grow Globant’s creative capabilities. This acquisition will shape a partnership that will boost Globant’s technology and creative offering, taking it to a new level, and support GUT’s expansion to new markets and industries while leading the inception of technology into advertising.

Technology and creativity have never been more closely linked than they are today,” said Martin Migoya, Co-founder and CEO of Globant. “We always say that Globant is where innovation, design, and engineering meet scale, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the world’s most creative marketing and communications company into the mix. With this acquisition, we will be able to offer a unique blend of top-notch technology and bold ideas to brands from the very beginning of the creative ideation process.

We are thrilled to enter into this next chapter of our expansive growth powered by such an entrepreneurial and innovative partner as Globant, who will help us rapidly achieve the scale we’ve always dreamed about,” said Anselmo Ramos, Co-Founder and Creative Chairman of GUT. “Our mission when we founded GUT was to be the most diverse, creative, and influential agency Network ever, so we know that this reinvention with Globant will only accelerate that goal to hopefully becoming our reality soon.”

The five-year-old network has employees across seven offices in Miami, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Toronto, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. It has also attracted over 60 clients globally, including AB InBev, Mercado Libre, Google, Kraft Heinz, Coca-Cola, and Tim Hortons.

This year, GUT was named Cannes Lions Independent Network of the Year after winning 35 Lions, including 3 Grand Prix, 8 Golds, 12 Silvers, and 12 Bronzes across its Network. GUT Buenos Aires was also named both Cannes Lions Agency of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year in 2023. And this fall, Adweek named GUT the Breakthrough Agency of the Year, as well as GUT Buenos Aires office as the International Agency of the Year.

GUT will remain operating as fully independent as it does today, and GUT’s leadership team will remain in place with a continued focus on building culture and driving growth. Both companies will work together identifying cross-selling opportunities and leveraging their unique skills to provide even more innovative solutions to their customers.

Globant has been a trusted client for many years. We’ve done so many wonderful and successful things together as an agency and client, and now together, we know they will help us realize the dreams we’ve had since we were founded in 2018,” said Gaston Bigio, Co-Founder and Creative Chairman of GUT. “Ultimately, we’re excited to be part of the team that will propel us into the next phase of growth and success at GUT, and set us up for even more growth and success in the long term for our People and clients around the world.

GUT and Globant share a solid culture, endless passion for supporting their clients, and a strong commitment to bravery, creativity, and innovation”, said Martin Umaran, Co-Founder and Chief Corporate Development Officer of Globant. “In past years, Globant doubled-down on its inherent creative side of technology by adding marketing and advertising agencies such as Habitant, in Spain, Vertic, in Denmark, Ad_Bid, in Colombia, and KTBO, in Mexico. We have already merged these teams with Globant’s own Digital Marketing and Digital Sales Studios to create a new end-to-end Studio Network with an agency approach enhanced with AI and diverse and talented professionals. GUT will play a critical role in being part of this Network”, he added.

Both organizations are ranked among the top ten global organizations in their respective industries: Globant is the 8th strongest IT brand globally according to the latest Brand Finance report, and GUT is the most creative independent advertising network in the world according to Cannes 2023 Report – forming a powerful global creative tech company poised for even greater growth. Globant was also included by Fortune on its latest list of “100 Fastest-Growing Companies”, ranked first among peers in the Information Technology Services category and recognized for its revenue, profit and stock return over the last three years.
