  • Globant Releases Innovative Advanced Video Search Tool Leveraging Google Cloud’s Gemini Models

  • 01 Oct 2024

    Press Release

AI-powered Advanced Video Search (AVS) tool

  • The AI-powered video search tool allows users to instantly search for specific clips, images, and moments within vast video libraries.
  • This solution helps audiences find the content they need with the best-quality results using Google's state-of-the-art AI models: Vertex AI + Gemini.
  • Through a semantic search interface, it automates content discovery and enhances efficiency by reducing manual effort

SAN FRANCISCO –  October 1, 2024 – Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, announced today the launch of its state-of-the-art AI-powered Advanced Video Search (AVS) tool powered by Google Cloud’s Gemini models. This solution is designed to transform the way media companies, sports organizations and enterprises manage and search through video content.

The demand for efficient video search solutions has grown as media companies need help managing extensive content libraries, but traditional solutions often fall short. To bridge this gap, Globant’s AVS leverages AI to allow users to instantly search for specific clips, images, and moments within vast video libraries. Whether text-based queries or image-based searches, AVS offers a seamless experience to find the exact content needed – from identifying key frames in live sports broadcasts to locating precise video moments for advertising, training and more.

“As generative AI continues to redefine search capabilities, Globant expects Advanced Video Search to play a pivotal role in how enterprises and media companies leverage and manage video content,” said Diego Tártara, Chief Technology Officer at Globant. “With video rapidly overtaking text as the primary medium for information consumption, tools like AVS are set to redefine how we interact with video content – whether for entertainment, education or commerce.”

“Media & Entertainment companies face mounting challenges – rising consumer expectations, escalating content creation costs, and the need to adapt their business models to an ever-changing landscape. Globant's AVS solution combines the power of Google Cloud's enterprise AI platform and Gemini models with Globant's deep digital implementation expertise. This isn't simply about technology – it's a clear demonstration of how AI and innovation can be harnessed to tackle industry-specific hurdles and deliver tangible business results for customers worldwide,” said Albert Lai, Global Director for Media & Entertainment at Google Cloud.

“Our Advanced Video Search solution is more than just a search tool; it’s an engine for unlocking value from video archives, drastically improving their value, boosting the efficiency of workflows, and enabling precise, contextualized content delivery,” said Diego Fernandez Brihuega, SVP & Technology Lead for Globant’s Google Cloud Studio.

Globant developed AVS to address the challenges media professionals face when curating highlight reels, creating targeted advertisements or quickly finding specific frames within video footage. Key use cases and benefits include:

  • Sports Highlights: Sports highlight packages traditionally require large teams to manually comb through footage to identify key moments. AVS automates this process, searching for penalties in a soccer game, significant plays or specific athletes, making it invaluable for sports media companies.

  • Advertising & Product Placement: AVS enables advertisers to find the most contextually relevant moments for ads within a video. For example, during an emotional scene in a movie, advertisers can avoid placing an upbeat ad, ensuring the ad aligns with the content’s tone. AVS can also track when specific logos or trademarks appear on screen, aiding brand visibility and sponsorship analysis.

  • Training and Education: Whether it’s corporate training videos or educational content, users often only need to revisit specific segments. AVS allows them to instantly locate and access those moments without having to scrub through lengthy videos.

Unlike other solutions, Globant’s AVS stands out with its unique combination of a robust custom-developed model and Gemini large language model (LLM) capabilities. This powerful combination provides broad knowledge while also allowing for customized content layers, ensuring the solution meets the diverse industry needs of video/catalog processing and monetization. With Globant’s AVS, you can benefit from the flexibility and adaptability necessary to cater to specific requirements in the industry.

Globant is a strong collaborator with Google Cloud, working with Google Cloud-certified engineers around the world. In 2023, Globant launched its Google Cloud Studio, a business unit with a dedicated team of experts containing deep and wide reach in Google Cloud products. Globant was recognized with the Google Cloud Industry Solution Service Partner of the Year Award for Media & Entertainment two years in a row (2023 and 2024).

Globant was also recently recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape Worldwide Media Consultation, Integration, and Business Operations Cloud Service Providers 2024 Vendor Assessment (July 2024, IDC #US51752224).

The AVS solution is fully developed and available for implementation across various industries. For more information, visit www.globant.com

  • 14 Oct 2024

    Press Release

Globant collaborate Media Archive AI

“Media Archive AI,” a collaborative IVN solution powered by Google Cloud’s generative AI, aims to accelerate time-to-value realization and enable new catalog monetization opportunities for media & entertainment customers

SAN FRANCISCO – October 14, 2024 – Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, and Quickplay, a leader in cloud transformations of OTT experiences for Telcos, Broadcasters and Sports, today announced that they have collaborated with Google Cloud to create a Google Cloud Industry Value Network (IVN) solution for media and entertainment customers. Industry Value Networks bring together the expertise and solutions of systems integrators (SIs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and content partners to deliver comprehensive, differentiated, and repeatable high-value solutions on Google Cloud.

Globant and Quickplay’s IVN, “Media Archive AI,” is revolutionizing the way archival media footage is accessed and utilized, by leveraging the power of advanced machine learning and generative AI to digitize, enrich, and store vast quantities of archival footage and integrate and monetize with VOD, FAST channels and live broadcast.

“As the media and entertainment landscape rapidly evolves, companies are under growing pressure to streamline the rights, tracking, management, and monetization of their content in order to accelerate their time-to-market and explore new business opportunities,” said Diego Tártara, Chief Technology Officer at Globant. “By working with innovative industry leader and Google Cloud expert Quickplay, we have been able to create an Industry Value Network solution specifically designed to address these critical business challenges, empowering companies to produce and distribute more compelling content with greater efficiency on Google Cloud.”

With Media Archive AI, content is meticulously converted from tapes and other traditional storage methods into digital formats and housed in a Google Cloud-based storage system. It is then enriched and tagged for easy indexing, searching and distributing within a modern, flexible Content Management System (CMS). The natural language search capabilities of Google Cloud Vertex AI and Gemini models also help enable the swift retrieval of content. This functionality is pivotal for incorporating clips into streaming and broadcasts, crafting dynamic and personalized channels, and enhancing services with targeted archival video content. It also marks a significant leap towards unlocking new acquisition, retention, engagement and monetization avenues in enabling content creators and programmers to leverage historical footage in compelling and innovative ways.

“Generative AI is a transformative solution to the industry-wide problem of accessing, discovering and monetizing vast troves of archival content,” said Paul Pastor, Founder and CBO at Quickplay. “This Media Archive AI solution simplifies the buying process for media companies and provides a time-to-market advantage in digitizing, indexing, publishing and distributing relevant, contextual and targeted content offerings.”

“IVN solutions reduce the need for customers to create custom-built solutions for common industry challenges," said Albert Lai, Global Director, Strategic Industries at Google Cloud. "With Media Archive AI, Globant and Quickplay are combining Google Cloud’s AI capabilities with their own innovation and expertise to tackle practical challenges and achieve significant business results. This showcases how innovation with enterprise AI can accelerate digital transformation.”

  • Globant Unveils Report to Tackle AI Myths in Healthcare to Unleash Industry's Full Potential

  • 25 Sep 2024

    Press Release

Globant launches Move Your But report

  • The company shares its latest insights on the synergy between professionals and AI in the healthcare system, the enhancement of operational efficiency through AI, and the complexities of data management.
  • The report's significance is underscored by projections that global investments in AI for the healthcare sector will experience a tenfold increase by 2030.

SAN FRANCISCO – September 25, 2024 — Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, has launched its new 'Move Your But' report to drive AI adoption in the healthcare industry, showcasing AI's potential to transform patient care and operational efficiency.

This new report delves into the impact of AI in the Healthcare industry and marks the inaugural release in a series of industry-focused reports titled "Move Your But." With this initiative, Globant aims to tackle the common excuses—or "buts"—that organizations use to justify not implementing AI.

The study addresses beliefs that may hinder AI adoption and provides Globant's solutions to these challenges. For instance, despite the belief that 'Healthcare is Personal', and may seem at odds with AI adoption, AI can actually serve as an ideal partner, enhancing personalization by automating routine tasks, thus enabling healthcare providers to concentrate more on patient care. By minimizing human errors, artificial intelligence promises safer healthcare and improved outcomes. An example of this is Globant's collaboration with an organization dedicated to glucose monitoring for diabetes management, which has resulted in a 78% increase in click-through rates, thereby enhancing adherence and management of diabetes."

"Artificial Intelligence possesses a remarkable ability to transform established paradigms, and the healthcare sector is not exempt from its transformative impacts. It’s overcoming hurdles like complex data management and time constraints. The potential of AI in healthcare is crystal clear and is beginning to have a tangible impact. It's revolutionizing billing, operations, and patient safety—raising the bar for quality and accessibility. And there’s more to come," said Lucas Najún Dubos, MD & Healthcare & Life Sciences Partner at Globant.

Addressing 'Data Management Challenges', the report recognizes the complexity of navigating healthcare data. Nevertheless, it acknowledges AI can break down data silos by integrating the data into an efficient navigation system. With AI-driven analytics, Globant has helped healthcare organizations achieve data processing speeds that are 50% faster, along with marked improvements in data management and patient care through solutions like centralized data platforms.

Regarding 'Regulatory Compliance', the report highlights that AI can simplify compliance by adjusting to new regulations while safeguarding data security and patient privacy. Globant’s Navigate Digital Twin platform aids organizations in maintaining compliance and increasing operational efficiency, with results such as 20% cost savings by pinpointing inefficiencies, tripled supply chain flow speeds, and 25% higher productivity through process automation.

The report also delves into the 'Fast-Paced AI Market', highlighting the challenges of keeping up-to-date with AI advancements; 'Change Management', discussing how resistance to change can impede AI adoption; and other pressing issues.

AI: An Expanding Investment for the Healthcare Industry

In terms of market growth and savings, the global AI in healthcare market was valued at USD 15.1 billion in 2022 and is forecasted to surpass USD 187.95 billion by 2030. AI's role in claims processing, overuse, and fraud detection could potentially save the US Healthcare System more than $1 trillion annually.

Globant remains dedicated to maximizing AI's potential to transform patient care and operational efficiency in healthcare, under the supervision of responsible employees. With an AI-centric approach, healthcare organizations can anticipate a future where technology not only complements but also enhances their work, leading to healthier patients worldwide.
