Globant and Open Space seek to open the doors of a “New Space Era” to youth around the world

Globant and Open Space calls young people up to 25 years of age from around the world to develop space projects with the aim of reaching the Moon before 2025 and deep space by 2030.

Buenos Aires, October 29 of 2020.- Globant, a digitally native company that offers innovative technology solutions, and Open Space, the program which goal is to open the doors of space to the youth, join forces to call upon young people up to 25 years of age from around the world to participate in a competition to develop projects with the aim of reaching the Moon before 2025 and deep space by 2030.  The competition will be announced  Thursday, October 29 at 13:00 (EST) and will take part in Globant’s virtual event, “A New Space Era” that seeks to inspire young people to join an ecosystem of spatial innovation.

The event will feature top speakers such as, Irene Arias Hofman, CEO at IDB Lab, Emiliano Kargieman, CEO & co-founder of Satellogic, Eduardo Bendek, Optical Engineer at NASA, Miguel San Martín, Chief Engineer at JPL (NASA), Marcos Franceschini, CEO & co-founder of Skyloom, Gabriel Absi, VP Aerospace Division at INVAP, Diego Saez Gil, CEO & founder of Pachama, among others. Martín Migoya, CEO & co-founder of Globant and Ignacio Peña, CEO and founder of Open Space, will open the event to discuss the importance of thinking big and the need to develop skills according to the 21st century.

Attendees will be able to participate in different workshops with useful tools to get involved in the current space projects offered by Open Space such as, artificial intelligence, data science, agile thinking, design, gaming, quantum computing,creativity, and more.

Project ideas for each of the four current categories may be submitted individually or in groups, until December 31, 2020. Each team will have the possibility to interact with some of the main companies in the space and technology industry in Latin America and globally.
