Globant arrives in Arequipa and announces it will hire 200 people during its first year

After doubling its presence in Peru, Globant announced its first operation outside of Lima as part of its goal of continuing to generate world-class opportunities for local talent.

Peru - September 28, 2021 - Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company that offers innovative technological solutions, announced new operations in Arequipa, the second most populated city in Peru. The company announced it will hire over 200 people by 2022, with the goal of strengthening the development of local talent in the region and enhancing the local ecosystem.

“Ever since we arrived in Peru seven years ago, we’ve assembled a team of over 1,000 Globers and we plan on continuing to bet on this country and its talent, no matter where it’s found,” asserted Ignacio Iglesias, Globant’s Managing Director in Peru. “Arequipa has an academic infrastructure that places it as a hub of digital talent with an extraordinary potential.”

The beginning of operations outside of Lima consolidates the company on a national level as one of the referrents of innovation in the IT industry. During the first eight months of 2021, Globant has doubled its operations and currently has over 1,000 Globers in the country (employees).

This decentralized expansion strategy is replicated in all the countries Globant is found in, as a way of allowing more young people to access world-class opportunities from their cities of origin. In turn, Globant was recently chosen as the best company for young people in Peru in 2021, according to the “Employers for Youth” ranking.
