Globant joined COVESA

Globant brings cross-industry expertise and an automotive background to guide and support the connected car evolution

SAN FRANCISCO – April 15, 2023 - Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, today announced it has joined the Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA), a global member-driven alliance focused on the development of open standards and technologies that accelerate innovation for connected vehicle systems. As a member, Globant brings extensive technical competence and cross-industry experience that will facilitate bringing advanced technologies to the vehicle through open standards.

Globant has enabled several of today’s leading brands to capitalize on new business opportunities via its extensive experience with consumer-facing technologies like gaming, AI, IoT, and e-commerce. Its Automotive Reinvention Studio, launched in August 2022, leverages Globant’s proficiency with cutting-edge technologies to create solutions that solve critical automotive business issues. The Studio’s goal is to serve as a bridge between the automotive industry and the swiftly evolving digital and mobility space, leading the industry into a new era of connectivity aligned with evolving consumer demand and expectations.

“Globant is well-positioned to play a strategic role during this transitional time in the automotive industry,” said Steve Crumb, Executive Director of COVESA. “Globant, in partnership with other COVESA members, has the ability to collaborate and support defining open standards that will help unify and drive the industry, accelerating the full potential of connected vehicles.”

“We are at a pivotal point in the history of the connected car. The pace of change in the automotive industry has drastically increased to keep pace with consumer expectations. As a result, the challenges the industry faces have also evolved, and it can be difficult for companies to understand and adequately react to these new demands,” said Marina Saint-Lary, Chief Solution Officer and Managing Director at Globant's Automotive Reinvention Studio. “As a member of COVESA, with our extensive experience we will be able to play a prominent role in creating a unified future for the automotive industry by collaborating with other leading organizations on the standards, technologies, and services that make up the foundation of modern mobility.”

As part of Globant’s participation as a member of COVESA, Marina Saint-Lary spoke on a panel at the CES 2024 Connect2Car Show in Las Vegas, of which COVESA was an event sponsor. On the panel, titled “Transforming the Driving Experience,” Marina joined other automotive leaders to discuss how software-defined connected vehicles (SDCVs) are transforming the driving experience to enable advanced performance, safety, and convenience.
