The recognition follows the company’s efforts to increase diversity, inclusion, and equity in the technology industry, and empower women of all backgrounds to pursue IT careers.

San Francisco, CA – June 16, 2022Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing business through innovative technology solutions, today announced that it has been recognized as a finalist for “Employer of the Year” by the 2022 Women in IT Awards USA.

The Women in IT Awards USA recognizes women, allies, and organizations based in the United States who are making outstanding contributions to the technology industry. The “Employer of the Year” category honors a technology organization that has demonstrated a great effort to attract and retain more diverse talent, as well as create a more diverse and inclusive working environment.

A pillar of Globant’s culture, since its founding in 2003, has been empowering its employees and communities to reach new heights – including women technologists, who are still underrepresented in the industry today. Within the framework of its Be Kind initiative, Globant has created a variety of initiatives to promote diversity and equal employment, including a company-wide public commitment to have women and non-binary people in 50% of management positions by 2025; its Women that Build Program, which provides programs and trainings to help women and non-binary people grow and thrive in the IT industry through every stage of their lives, from inspiration to education to leadership; support and education for women from vulnerable and underrepresented groups; and comprehensive healthcare, lifestyle, and professional development benefits for employees.

The company’s actions are making a measurable difference; in a 2021 audit of global employees for Great Places to Work, Globant found that:

  • 95% of employees said people are treated fairly at Globant regardless of their gender.
  • Women’s turnover was reduced by 1.4% between 2019 and 2020.
  • At the end of 2019, women accounted for 18% of staff; a year later, that rose to 42%.
  • Over 48% of female Globant employees have participated in leadership training.

“Globant was founded with the belief that diversity is essential to innovation,” said Patricia Pomies, Chief Operating Officer at Globant. “Women are a strong pillar in technology, and increasing the presence of empowered women technologists is key to creating a stronger, more sustainable industry. With our support – both internally of Globant employees and externally of women around the world – we are deeply committed to reducing the gender gap and taking actions to build a more diverse and inclusive technology workforce.”

Following this commitment, Globant has launched several programs inside and outside of the company, such as She Leads, a mentoring program to enhance the career development of women and non-binary people at Globant; Back In the Game, a training program to help women currently on a career break to resume their tech journeys; Empower Her, a program to train women from vulnerable backgrounds in India; and the Women that Build Awards, which celebrates those who are positively impacting the IT sector.
